On October 21-22, 2024, the Plant Power Project officially came to life as partners from across Europe gathered for our first Transnational Project Meeting (TPM). Hosted by BIA Innovator at their inspiring Athenry campus in Galway, Ireland, the two days were filled with energy, collaboration, and excitement for what lies ahead.
Day 1: Building Connections and Setting the Stage
The meeting began with introductions, as each partner shared insights about their organisations and their role in Plant Power. It was incredible to see the diverse expertise around the table—from digital education and sustainability to plant-based innovation and food entrepreneurship.
We then dove into discussions on Work Package 1 (project management) and Work Package 5 (impact and dissemination), laying the groundwork for strong collaboration and effective communication throughout the project. To end the day on a high note, we shared a fantastic meal at the Porter House in Oranmore, enjoying great food, lively conversations, and a sense of shared purpose.
Day 2: Exploring Plant Power’s Potential
The second day shifted focus to Work Package 2, which aims to inspire plant-based food innovation through a Good Practice Guide. We explored the exciting opportunities this guide will bring and mapped out the next steps to ensure its success.
What’s Next?
As the meeting wrapped up, the excitement was palpable. With strong connections established and a clear plan in place, we’re ready to dive into the work ahead. Together, we’ll empower food SMEs, educators, and policymakers to drive plant-based innovation and sustainability across Europe.
Stay tuned as we continue this exciting journey. The Plant Power Project is just getting started, and the best is yet to come!
